[Author's Note: Since this is not War College, I am going to keep this as simple as possible, so please do not inundate me with lists of things I "forgot". Comments are always welcome; I just do not want a mile-long laundry list. :-)]

Raise your hand if you think you know who backed the Shah of Iran? Was it "America", or was it George Soros?
It went something like this: By the late '70's, George Soros was heavily invested financially in Iran, having already made a fortune when the price of oil quadrupled in 1973. Conversely, the former Soviet Union had a love-hate relationship with Iran. Since the Bolshevik Revolution, relations were very much on-again, off-again, and the Shah was no different. Of major concern was the northern region where many Russians had settled after 1917 (Azerbaijan). Pahlavi was without question a brute who, under the guise of a semi-democratic life for Iran's citizens, was at the same time terrorizing them through his SAVAK (secret police).
So Russia intervened and installed the Ayatollah Khomeini.
Check to Soros.
Don't believe me? Regular readers will recall I have mentioned that Khomeini was trained by the KGB (that information coming from Ion Mihai Pacepa):
The Soviet Union immediately had problems, which they should have foreseen. "If you sleep with dogs, you will get fleas." The Russians have a long history of playing with terrorists (whom they despise but who are viewed as "Useful Idiots"). Things quickly got out-of-control:
And the first ones to pay the price were Americans. The Iranian Hostage Crisis was probably the most humiliating experience in our history, but since the Carter administration (like our current one) was filled with Soros' puppets we fumbled around until Reagan took control. Additionally, Carter was no doubt terrified of the Soviet Union (again, like our current administration) and Soros was enjoying the show.
Nor was Soros done. Far from it. You see, when I was researching KGB-trained terrorists, I kept looking for one name in particular. I looked high and low, to no avail. I really could not understand it because the list is quite long, but this person was nowhere to be found. Now we know why (hopefully everyone watched the video I posted in the introduction). This is where the chess board gets extremely complicated.
Osama bin Laden was George Soros' baby.
