Hello, everyone!
This will be a brief post; I am buried in study materials to make my religious conversion complete, which is why I have rarely posted in this past year.
I just have to CONGRATULATE all of the HOMELESS in Las Vegas, Nevada! YOU HAVE WON!
Seriously. My readers will recall I was homeless until about a year-and-a-half ago. The legislature has just passed a law, effective January 1, that makes it a misdemeanor to sleep on the streets. KA-CHING! The "penalty" is six months in jail and a $1,000 fine (good luck collecting that shit!) So, on New Years' Day, grab your blanket/tent/whatever and park in front of the #LasVegas Police Department! They will bring you inside, assign you a bed and give you the first of many meals courtesy of the citizens of Las Vegas.
Of course, I think they are going to need to build a couple of new jails....
And it gets better for those who are mentally ill and/or addicts, because the public defender's office is going to make sure you are placed in a mental health facility where the food is undoubtedly better than the jail house stuff. Of course, Las Vegas is going to have to build some more mental health facilities, too.
SERIOUSLY. I think this is great! However, there is one little drawback that people are going to start complaining about: HOUSING THOUSANDS OF NON-CRIMINALS AND BUILDING JAILS AND MENTAL HEALTH FACILITIES WILL NOT BE CHEAP, so get out your wallets, Tax Payers! (I bet you wish you had just given the guy on the corner $1, huh?)
