Benghazi Part Two

Let me state at the outset of this post that I do not believe for an instant that anyone faults Kris Paronto for not doing enough, nor for not going fast enough. I believe anyone who loves this country appreciates every ounce of effort he is putting forth. That being said, I must take exception (respectfully) to something he said on iHeartRadio tonight. We do not have two to three years for the truth about Benghazi to come to light. What happened that fateful night must be brought out ASAP. Barack Obama is getting people killed at every turn, and he must be stopped. I am convinced another major attack in America is imminent, and every day that passes we get closer to that moment. I, for one, cannot sit back and watch it happen.
Almost from the day he took office in 2009, Obama has worked feverishly to destroy the United States. He has not only undermined our reputation, but he has released terrorists back into the world who proceeded to kill more people. For example, he released Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in 2009. A year-and-a-half later, Obama developed an irresistible urge to kill Osama bin Laden. It did not make sense to me at the time. There was no election coming, so why was he interested in the War on Terror that he fought at every turn? The answer came a few days later when the future "Caliph Ibrahim" unleashed his fury on Iraq. The death of bin Laden freed him to begin his march to what is now called the Islamic State.
Syria is probably the worst secret in CIA history. The rumors swirled almost from the beginning that America was funding and supplying arms to the "rebels". I personally spoke to a Marine who was "not" in Syria, and he said the barbarity of the "rebels" made him physically ill. Newspaper articles appeared here-and-there supporting the rumors. Yet, the show continued in Congress that we were not in Syria, and had no intention of getting into Syria. No one wanted "boots on the ground". Well, that phrase has a very specific meaning in military jargon. It means actual, uniformed troops. "Boots on the ground" does not include CIA and/or military "advisers". CIA and military "advisers" have been in Syria since at least 2011.
Enter the "Arab Spring". I admit to laughing when the "news" broke, because I already knew too much about the Middle East to believe for an instant that it has suddenly seen the light and democracy was sweeping the region. What a joke. In reality, the "Arab Spring" was orchestrated by this government. Egypt, with whom we had a strong alliance (albeit a love-hate relationship) ultimately went to the Muslim Brotherhood. Gone was the man who had kept peace with Israel for thirty years. Obama continues to hold up Tunisia as being a model of Middle Eastern democracy. I urge my readers to research the leadership in Tunisia. It is hardly democratic. Yemen. Well, it is still Yemen. Libya? Reagan put the fear of God into Qaddafi when he killed one of the dictator's sons in an airstrike. Qaddafi was one of the first to call President Bush on 9/11 to say, "We had nothing to do with it! How can we help?!" He was under control. But, suddenly we and NATO had to go in and remove this horrid person. Now, make no mistake. None of these people were nice. They were all butchers in their own right. But, there is a saying in military circles: The enemy who is known is better than the enemy who is not known. It is plain to see that our regime changes did not work out so well.
In Syria, 300,000 people are dead, and countless others are in refugee camps. The media keeps saying these are due to Bashar al-Assad. The reality is, Christians (for one) were safe under his rule. No, he is not a nice person. But, the mayhem we now see was brought on by America's decision to involve itself in that country. The deaths are from al-Assad's army, Hezbollah, Hamas, Ansar al-Sharia, al-Qaeda, the Taliban, Jabhat al-Nusra, Harakat al-Shabaab, the Free Syria Army, et. al., including terrorist wannabes who flocked to the country when they discovered they could go on a killing spree with impunity. As I call it, Syria is a terrorist cluster-fuck.
And America set the stage.
Yes, there were arms shipments going through Libya. I do not have all of the pieces, but to date I can track them from Qatar, through Saudi Arabia, into Egypt, through Benghazi, to Turkey, and on into Syria. In effect, we created the Islamic State, in the same way we created al-Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan.
As the prisoner releases continue, my trepidation grows exponentially. We do not yet have the names of the next two being released from Guantanamo Bay, but I have no doubt they are bad characters. The last batch of five included Mohammed Zahir, a nuclear expert who is now in Afghanistan, back with his Taliban cronies. That cannot be good.
Space precludes me from itemizing every single piece that I have to this puzzle, and there are so many other pieces yet to be put into place. My fear is that I will run out of time before I accomplish the objective. I need help with this. There is a reason CIA has task forces. I am trying to track terror networks around the globe, including Mexico and Indonesia, by myself. I am quite intelligent, and I have a very good memory. But, I cannot remember everything at the same time. I get tired. Eighteen-hour-days take their toll. I get punchy, and sometimes I find myself unable to remember what day it is!
If anyone knows someone who would be willing to team up with me, now is the time to make that phone call/send that message. Even better: If there is someone out there whose conscience has had enough who would like to relieve that conscience, please get in touch with me. If that person wishes to remain anonymous, I will respect his or her identity. I need information. I am not interested in crucifying those who were caught up in this because of their jobs. I am interested in busting the people responsible for these schemes, beginning with the traitor sitting in our Oval Office.
I pray God help arrives for me soon. The clock is ticking.

Trey Gowdy and Benghazi

If I could ask Congressman Trey Gowdy just one question, it would be this:
How is it that a homeless USAF veteran who sleeps on the sidewalk in D.C. and eats courtesy of donations can get on a $200 laptop and find information that a member of Congress, a former prosecutor, with a full staff and a six-figure salary, cannot find?
Evidently, the tax payers do not pay Mr. Gowdy enough, because he seems to be lacking a search engine for the Internet! Perhaps we should take up a collection.
Mr. Gowdy dares to make speeches lecturing the media for not doing its job. He dares to make speeches about not caring "whose career is affected". He dares to make speeches swearing he is going to find the "truth".
Really?
Last month, he went on Greta Van Susteran's show and said there was probably nothing "nefarious" about Ambassador Stevens' meeting with the Turkish diplomat. He said they were likely "just friends".
Really?
Type "Ali Sait Akin" into your search engine. Hit "enter".
In case that is difficult, here:
Next, type in "Al-Entisar". Hit "enter".
In case THAT is too difficult, here:
And,
The ship you see referenced is from the same "humanitarian" organization (IHH) responsible for the Gaza flotilla incident in 2010 (the "Mavi Marmara"), which just last year was finally acknowledged as having been a cover for a terrorist network. Danny Danon, Prime Minister Netanyahu, et. al., can provide the details.
At this point in time, it is common knowledge for those of us with search engines (and eyes, and ears, and basic reading comprehension skills) that Benghazi was part of a gun-running network going to the Syrian "rebels". How is it that the congressman missed the memo?
Just what is Congressman Trey Gowdy trying to pull?

The Islamic State in America

The Muslim  Brotherhood has always known how to use propaganda to inflame the masses. One need look no further than Nazi Germany to see that. Nevertheless, I am confronted daily on Twitter with people who wish to bombard me with the latest theory as to who is responsible for the latest anarchy in this country, despite the fact that I have posted the information repeatedly. In the interest of being able to free myself from the distractions so that I can focus on Benghazi, I am posting this blog to describe once-and-for-all what is happening.
Theories abound. The Council on Foreign Relations. The Trilateral Commission. The GOP. The New World Order. The police. The Mayor. The media. And of course, the tried-and-true "Whitey is keeping the black man down." Congratulations to the Islamic State. Your strategy is working beautifully. Get everyone pointing fingers in every conceivable direction other than where they SHOULD be pointing: the Islamic State.
Has anyone asked why pro-"Palestine" flags were flying at Ferguson protests? Is it coincidence that Ismaaiyl Brinsley was a member of Black Power, which is an Islamic prison gang? Is it coincidence that he attended a mosque tied to 9/11 and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing? Ties of other "protesters" to the same mosque as the Tzarnaev brothers of the Boston Bombing? What about the posting of the Shahada on Brinsley's Facebook page? How about Sheikh Monis, the Australian terrorist? What about La Raza, the gang whose mass grave was just uncovered in Mexico? Is it coincidence that this just turned up right after Obama's amnesty order was struck down in court? How about Bill Ayers? Al Sharpton? The invoking of Malcolm X at these "die-ins"? All coincidence?
While I am encouraged by the growing number of "followers" on Twitter who readily admit Obama is an agent of the Muslim Brotherhood, I am still challenged incessantly about what is responsible for the current unrest. Include the recent Sony hack, and the conversation grows even more insane. Add to that the various theories about Benghazi, and intelligent discourse is impossible.
Let me try to give a brief overview of what is really happening. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is highly intelligent and not to be taken lightly. He does not have bin Laden's egotistical need to put out saber-rattling videos. He is vey patient, and that makes him extremely dangerous. He knows the history of Islam as well as (if not better than) any Imam. The "Caliph" hired an American media expert to head his propaganda campaign, and it is working well. We are at each other's throats. White against black. "Citizen" versus the police. The  police versus the Mayor. Democrat against Republican. Liberal against conservative. Everyone against the government, but for a zillion different reasons. Goebbels, take a bow.
We need to focus. Our number one enemy at present is the Islamic State, but it is too large for ordinary citizens to overcome. What we need is for our government to help us fight, but we cannot have that with an agent of the Muslim Brotherhood sitting in the Oval Office. Our first step is to end Obama's reign. Only then can we hope to pull together as a nation to defeat our enemy. With all of my concerns and commentaries about Israel and the dangers she is facing, has anyone asked why I have honed in on Benghazi? Besides the obvious horror of what occurred that night, and the unforgivable betrayal of our men, it is because Benghazi has the proof necessary to bring this administration down. There is more than enough public evidence to get our "president" indicted and convicted, and that is precisely what must be done just as soon as it is humanly possible. I am not putting in 18-hour days for the fun of it. I would prefer to get rid of the chronic headaches and nausea I live with because of this mission. But, it must be done.
My apologies to those with whom I have been short on occasion. Knowledge is a curse, and it breeds impatience. I grow frustrated with those who do not see what is plain to me. I am compelled to do everything I can conceive of to end this madness before it destroys what was once a great nation. Please help me by not falling prey to propaganda. Be aware of the enemy's tools, and do not be fooled by them.
Time and space do not permit me to outline everything I know. The JI attacks in China. The Malaysian Airlines flight that "disappeared" with two Iranian "defectors" travelling on stolen passports from Indonesia. Putin's deal with the Muslim Brotherhood, outlined in a 2005 document smuggled out of Jordan by Israel. Iran's role in the creation of the Islamic State. The false flag in Syria in August, 2013. The orchestration of the so-called "Arab Spring". How there are no "sides" in the Middle East other than Arabs hating "the West". All of the various terrorist organizations world-wide and how they all originate with the Muslim Brotherhood. The Shia versus Sunni farce. The shell game that has otherwise intelligent people believing there are such things as "good" terrorists and "bad" terrorists. There is just not enough time.
We are at the most pivotal point in our nation's history. Let us solve the problem rather than being part of it. Let us focus on the terrorist in the White House.

Open Letter to World Leaders

In re: Any and All Matters Concerning the Establishment of a "State of Palestine":

Barack Hussein Obama is not working as the President of the United States of America. He does not represent me. He does not represent my countrymen. He does not represent my country.

Barack Hussein Obama is an Imposter.

My father served his career in the United States Navy. I am an honorably-discharged veteran of the United States Air Force. We both swore to protect and defend our Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Barack Hussein Obama is an enemy.

The man posing as the leader of the Free World is currently under indictment by the country of Egypt for suspicion of aiding terrorism. Further, evidence indicates that he, along with former President Mohamed Morsi of Egypt, engaged in terrorist activities which ultimately led to the deaths of United States Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone S. Woods, and Glen Doherty on September 11, 2012 in Benghazi, Libya.

Barack Hussein Obama is a suspected terrorist.

This man has a well-established connection to President Erdogan of Turkey, as well as to former President Morsi, both of whom actively support the Muslim Brotherhood, a recognized terrorist organization. There are also indications that he is actively engaged with Muslim Brotherhood organizations within America and has aided and abetted same in the infiltration of my government.

Barack Hussein Obama is a suspected agent of the Muslim Brotherhood.

As such, Barack Hussein Obama should not be given recognition as having the authority to represent these United States in any matters regarding the establishment of a Palestinian State, nor in any other legal capacity.
Instead, the international community should immediately commence legal proceedings to have Barack Hussein Obama extradited to the country of Egypt for trial under their laws, after which the International Criminal Court should commence its own proceedings for whatever crimes it deems fit.

Barack Hussein Obama should be arrested immediately.

Documentation Upon Request.

Taking Things Out of Context

There has been a lot of that going on lately, some malicious, some careless, and some completely unintentional.

Prime Minister Netanyahu has repeatedly been taken out of context - at best. Recently, he has not only been taken out of context but blatantly libeled. Case in point: the "Jewish State Bill". Some swear this bill makes Israel for "Jews alone", an egregious lie I caught a reporter tweeting over the Internet as an "exact quote" from the Prime Minister during a recent speech at the Knesset. I knew better when I first read the tweet, although it took some time for the transcript to come out. Meanwhile, that "news" spread like wildfire (with even President Rivlin joining in!), until now the State of Israel will be undergoing ill-timed and unnecessary elections.

I feel Prime Minister Netanyahu's pain.

Recently, people have been jumping into the middle of my Twitter threads, picking out some part in the middle, taking the context completely away from the conversation, and announcing to the world that I "believe" thus-and-so. But, the most insanity erupted yesterday over my last blog post on Israel dated November 28, 2014.

When someone writes an essay, there is a beginning, a middle, and an end. Those parts exist for a reason. Take one or two of those three ingredients away and the entire message is lost. That is what happened Thursday. I do not know how many times in my life I have started to read something, prepared to blast the author to pieces, only to find as I read that the article did not go in the direction I thought it was going.

It pays to read a piece in its entirety.

For the record, not once, even for an instant, in my wildest dreams, my drunkest moment, my highest fever-induced delirium, have I EVER blamed Jews for the Holocaust!

My last post outlined a progression of thought (beginning in childhood!) throughout my life, beginning with my inability to understand the Holocaust. Understand. Not blame. What a scurrilous accusation, and I resent it.

I would, however, like to thank the person who sent me multiple direct messages explaining both the reaction yesterday and some of what was behind my bewilderment about the Holocaust itself. That is called dialogue, and it gave me food for thought. Todah Rabah.

Dear readers, please: Next time, READ.

     Shabbat Shalom.

Why I Love Israel

I have been asked so many times why I love Israel. It should be an easy question to answer, but the history is such that I cannot give a 140-character answer on Twitter. (I wrote about it extensively in my old blog at LaDonnaRae50.blogspot.com, but since my computer was stolen I no longer have access to it so I started this one.) My campaign on Israel's behalf began thirty-six years ago.

As a teenager, I learned about the Holocaust. As was any human being, I was stunned by the information, but unlike most people my shock was not due to the horrors committed by the Nazis. Make no mistake: I realized I was reading about evil incarnate. But, what struck me was the behavior of the Jews. I could not wrap my mind around the psychology of a people so willing to succumb to their deaths. I watched news reel of dozens of SS soldiers lining up hundreds of Jews at a time, and I watched as each Jew stood obediently awaiting his or her machine gun bullet. I was appalled. I kept asking why they did not rush the guards. Sheer numbers dictated someone would come away alive. If they simply stood there, they would all die. What was there to lose?

Although my father was a devout racist, for some reason he understood my bewilderment and when a movie came out about the Warsaw Ghetto uprising he had me watch it. Now, that I understood. Although in the end the people perished, I cheered their valor and will to live. However, this was the only incident of which I was aware of Jews fighting for their survival, so my consternation persisted.

Time passed, I grew up, and as a young adult I became interested in current events. I was always a student of various parts of history; I would pick certain areas of interest and delve into the details with passion. I slowly became a news junkie in my late teens and became aware of some more recent events that tied into the people I had studied in school.

“The Raid on Entebbe” was my first introduction. I saw the movie two years after the event, and I was mesmerized. Were these the same people I watched throw their lives away mere decades earlier? Now they were fighting. Now they were valiant. Now they loved life and yearned to survive. Now they accomplished unimaginable and unparalleled fetes. Who were these Jews?

Yoni Netanyahu captured my imagination. I discovered later that the film took a few liberties with his story, but here was this soldier who clearly loved his people. His eyes sparkled, and the indescribable compassion in this man's voice as he helped his people escape the airport terminal was in sharp contrast to the military professional I had watched moments earlier. When he died, I was aghast. His character stuck with me.

Soon someone emerged on the world stage by the name of Ben Nitay (soon to become Benjamin Netanyahu). He hooked me the moment he first spoke. While he was young and unpolished, his words portrayed a man who was sure of himself, a man of great conviction and unwavering belief in those convictions. Most importantly, what he said made so much sense. Even though I knew very little about Israel at the time, I recognized the voice of authority and from that day forward whenever I heard his name I paid close attention. As the years passed, his input on the events of the day came to be of great importance to me.

I listened to the future Prime Minister, but eventually I came to realize I had not heard him. I was taken by the similarities between Binyamin Netanyahu and his older brother, Yoni. To this day I can still see that apparent dichotomy, the study in contrast, between the firm, indefatigable military man and the person with undisguised gentleness, fondness, and love toward his people. As the years passed, his wisdom never ceased to amaze me, nor does it now. For reasons that will become apparent momentarily I now confess I did not hear the message he was trying desperately to convey over the years. However, now I not only hear him; I read him. I study the Prime Minister intently.

Of course, I had much to learn. I had yet to study the War of Independence, the Six-Day War, the Yom Kippur War, all of the interwoven skirmishes; I did not even know the story of how Israel came to be a nation. Slowly I built that foundation of knowledge, and the more I learned the more I wanted to learn. But, my fascination with Israel was interspersed with great confusion as I learned of all of the times the Jewish people had been persecuted. Why? It made absolutely no sense to me. Why did everyone seem to hate this group of people? Why did so many people want them dead? It was not just the Nazis; there were Christians, and the British (who had apportioned the Mandate for Palestine for a future state of Israel in the first place!), and the Russians, and...everyone! What on earth was wrong with the Jewish people that it seemed they were destined to be bullied for all eternity?

I became accustomed to the terrorism. Reports out of the Middle East of bombings in Israel were just another day to me. I am as guilty as most Americans; the stories were so frequent that I became immune. I came to accept that this was just Israel's lot in life. I still did not understand it, but evidently that was just the way it was.

One morning I woke up, turned on my television (which was already on Fox News as that was always the last thing I watched before bedtime), stumbled over to my coffeemaker, poured a cup of coffee, and listened to the anchor describing a building on fire. I turned to look at the screen, and there was a close-up of what appeared to be a high-rise with a gaping hole in the side from which flames were visible. As I began to shake off the sleep, I heard the commentator say that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. I was awake instantly. Being the daughter of a Navy veteran who fought in two wars, being a veteran of the Air Force myself, the alarms sounded in my head. How could anyone accidentally crash into the World Trade Center? I heard talk of a private plane. That did not jibe with what I was seeing on the screen. Then I heard talk of a commercial jet. Immediately I said to myself, “The majority of commercial pilots are former military. They would put that plane in the ground before they would hit the World Trade Center”. I tried to fathom a situation where the pilot had a heart attack. So, did the co-pilot also have a heart attack? What happened to the navigation officer? Nothing computed.

Then Jon Scott, in a moment of professionalism I will never forget, calmly announced that “...There was another one! We just saw...we just saw another one. We just saw another one apparently go...another plane just flew into the second tower. This raises ser...this has to be deliberate, folks.” I was dumbstruck, as was everyone else in the world. A couple of hours into that fateful day, I became very angry with myself. Some news junkie I turned out to be. It seemed my addiction was very selective. My initial confusion as to who was attacking America had been explained by Jon Scott with the name Osama bin Laden. I really had not paid much attention to him except for the U.S.S. Cole. It seemed to me he was a blow-hard spoiled rich kid who could not find anything better to do with himself than to live in a cave and make idiotic videos proclaiming America's downfall. I remembered an episode of one of my favorite shows, “7th Heaven”, where women in Afghanistan were depicted wearing something called a “burka”. I had dismissed it, saying, “Well, if they are stupid enough to wear them...”. I remembered hearing about Buddhas being blown up. I had scoffed, “Well, what do you expect? They live in the Stone Age”.

Suddenly, stories I had selectively filtered out came pouring back to me and I was livid. How did I not see? Why did I disregard so many warnings? All of the evidence had been there had I paid attention, yet I had not. Along with the homicidal rage I felt for months after September 11th, 2001 was a rage against myself. How could I have been such a fool? What about the first World Trade Center bombing, with the Arab dude whose name I did not bother to memorize because Arabic names are weird, anyway?

And then I flashed on Israel. All of the par-for-the-course attacks that I had so jadedly dismissed. Prime Minister Netanyahu took immense criticism for something he said shortly after 9/11. He said that now America understood what Israel goes through every day. Some have grotesquely distorted that statement to mean he was “glad” it happened, a repugnant accusation. I know exactly what he meant, and he was right. What did I mean, “par-for-the-course”? What was “par-for-the-course” about what just happened to my country?

It was not just Israel that I had ignored. The Iranian Hostage Crisis galled me to no end. I was active duty at the time, and we all resented the presence of Iranian “students” on our bases during that debacle. The marine barracks in Beirut. Lockerbie. Dubai. The list goes on. I dismissed each incident out-of-hand. After all, they had their roots in the Middle East. What else did I expect?

Soon, people came out and urged America to show “restraint”, to which John Gibson appropriately replied, “Restraint my rhymes-with-bass”. Others said we should try to “understand why they are mad at us”. My reply? Who cares? America had been violated, our sovereignty challenged. A foe made the decision that we did not deserve to exist, and that he was going to mete out his version of justice: Wipe out the “Great Satan”.

What until that day had been casual historical research became a full-time mission on two fronts: Learn about America's enemy, and learn about Israel's dealings with such terrorism. As it turned out, the two fronts merged into one: Islam.

This post is about my love of Israel, so with the above as background let me come back to the subject at hand. Because I vowed to myself that I would never be caught with my “pants down” again, I turned back to Israel to see how she dealt with terrorism. While I was learning about her roots, I was also studying that tiny nation to see how she had managed to survive her incessant attacks and, in so doing, I found God.

Yes, those who read my blog know I had a lengthy experience with Christianity before my decision to convert to Judaism. On that subject, I have also expressed my one fatal flaw when it came to my relationship with God: “faith”. My conclusion (over-simplified for the purpose of space), in studying Israel's ability not only to survive, but to thrive despite great forces committed to her destruction, comes down to the following parable I once read. A man was asked why he believed there was a God. His reply was the same as my own, “I know God exists, because Israel exists”. It is the only possible conclusion.

There are so many stories about instances in just the past few decades where, in the middle of overwhelming odds, something inexplicable changed the course of events, leading Israel to victory against those who wish to obliterate her. The War of Independence alone is unfathomable without Divine Intervention, but there are other stories such as a mine field in Syria where a sudden dust storm saved soldiers' lives and enabled them to complete their mission as planned. Many who have read the Bible are familiar with the story of Michmash, where Jonathan slew the Philistines despite being at an impossible tactical disadvantage. What most do not know is the lesser-known story from World War I, where a British officer at that very location was reading his Bible, saw the story of Jonathan and the Philistines, decided to duplicate his feat, and defeated the Turks in the same fashion. And, of course, there is always Entebbe. Anyone who has studied that mission knows the plethora of reasons why it should have failed. Yet, not only was it successful but to this day it is the gold standard for hostage rescue missions.

So, why do I love Israel? Because Israel led me to HaShem. That is a debt I can never repay, but at least I can help her fight for her existence and do my part to counter those who slander her mercilessly.

And so I fight.

Thanksgiving

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, a day to give thanks for all that God has provided for us. I join in that celebration. God has given me much. He provides for me every day. Perhaps not in the way I would like, but I am always taken care of in one way or another.
Tonight, as people go home to their families in anticipation of "Turkey Day", I will be out on a street corner hoping to catch a few stragglers willing to donate enough money to me so that I can eat tomorrow. You see, I am one of the many homeless American veterans people read about every day. I came to Washington, D.C. back in June of this year in anticipation of the (then) upcoming Benghazi hearings. As an activist, I wanted to witness those hearings and offer information I compiled in my own research of the incident.
Two days after I arrived, my motel room was broken into and everything I owned was stolen from me. Since my divorce, I have not been able to accumulate money in the bank so it was a devastating loss. In that one instant, my life changed. I not only had no money; I had no identification and no bank card with which to access my paltry disability payments. Without my cell phone, I did not even have the phone number to call and report my card stolen. Of course, all of my work was also gone.
It took some time, but eventually I found a resource from which I was able to contact the correct institution and get a replacement bank card, but the money was gone and I had to wait until the next deposit before I had any cash. Meanwhile, I had to find someone to send for (and pay for) my birth certificate, which took almost two months to arrive from California. I then had to get proof from the Social Security Administration that "proved" my identity, although they refused to issue me a new card until I obtained official photo identification (one of many run-arounds I  have encountered during this process). I then had to find a way to "prove" I live in D.C., which was challenging since "living on the streets" is not a physical address. Finally, just two weeks ago, I received a District of Columbia identification card, although I am unable to replace my Texas Driver's License at this time.
Most of the people I know have no idea of my current circumstances. That is not because I am too proud; it is simply because I learned in a very short period of time that everyone has his/her own problems, and most people do not want to hear someone else's sad story. I found myself getting irritated when fellow homeless people wanted to bend my ear about their situations. Contrary to the popular saying, misery does not love company.
I support myself on the good will of others. The little bit of money I receive from disability each month allows me a brief respite from the streets; I go to a motel and act human for a couple of days, buy needed personal items, and the like. But, it is not enough to be able to find housing for myself. There is a "rapid re-housing" program in D.C., but based upon my income I do not qualify. Barack Obama proclaimed that he wanted all veterans off the streets by 2015, and supposedly initiated a program to do precisely that. Yet, the Veteran's Administration has been of no use to me, and there is only one month left before the president's alleged deadline. I do not hold out hope for that.
Anyway, I do not write this for the proverbial pity party. I have simply decided to go public. I comment online about everything under the sun on a daily basis, yet very few people know my story. Here it is. As soon as the weather clears, I will be heading out hoping for the good will of whatever strangers I encounter this evening, and I thank God in advance for whatever He is going to provide, because I know that He will provide.
I wish everyone the best Thanksgiving as I give my own thanks for God's daily provisions.

The Only True Way to End Racism
